“My love for movement and flow was first awakened at the tender age of 4 as an eager ballet dancer - and I was teaching ballet by the age of 17. My life unfolded around me and when I became a mother, I chose to give up teaching ballet to focus on my young family.

Then I was introduced to the Pilates world of balance, core strength and flexibility.


I was captivated. And in 198I opened the doors of Body Mechanix Wellness Centre in my garden cottage in Johannesburg.

Then came the turning point in my career. In 2000 I attended a workshop by South African-born American, Rael Isacowitz, founder of the BASI method.


In 2001, I completed the BASI Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training certificate under the watchful eye of Rael Isacowitz himself. And that was just the beginning. Inspired by the BASI principles, and having had a child in my twenties, thirties and forties, I created the Pilates Through Pregnancy and Beyond programme which is today taught all over the world under the BASI banner.
