4worldlovers: We shall strive to bring quality service of therapy, counselling and stimulation training for the benefit of our previously disadvantaged service users as close as possible and in the most affordable way possible.

After being retrenched from Dough Whitehead School for the Disabled, two women (Sarah Makhanya and Emily Mogoai) decided to open their own stimulation centre. They were later joined by Jerry Netsimbone to offer his marketing expertise and Malcolm Rhodes to render his management and administration skills.

The quartet invited the community, applied for N.P.O. Certificate, marketed and promoted the centre. Doors of Eyethu Centre opened for the first time to the public to accommodate first four kids from the community. The notion came due to a need of such a centre to be opened in the community where there was a need for this kind of service and up to that point there was none. Out of nothing Eyethu Centre was established.

On registration of new a service user, the centre requires the following documents:


Five (5) services users over the age of eighteen (18) are registered on our outreach program and participate in work related projects.

Promote awareness in our community about mental illness and try to find effective programs that will produce positive results

Eliminate crime and poverty in our community by creating employment opportunities for the youth and women

Contribute positively into our fast growing economy by offering everyone involved in this project a chance to skills, training and education

Offer opportunities to women and unemployed youth to learn about the professional working environment in the following areas: health, customer service, administration, computer skills, art and craft etc.

To create a place where our previously disadvantaged mentally and physically impaired persons can have equal opportunities and treatment with of those who are fortunate.

By offering proper training and grooming via our stimulation program we will be able help them become socially independent and see our vision become a reality.
