Our Martial Arts training brings so much to the table in terms of benefits for a single activity. It would be difficult to find another activity which offers so much all round benefit.

We consider ourselves an all-round potent martial art. Essentially our classes are a traditional and reality based martial art as well as combat sport. By training with us you get a broad spectrum of complete martial arts training in one class with self defence, traditional & sporting aspects all specialised in.


MTG Magua Taekwon-Do Group was formed as one club in 2001 under brothers Norman Magua VII Dan and Denis Magua VII Dan. They have clubs also run by hand picked senior black belt students in South Africa and Canada now. Master Norman is honoured and humbled to be the first and currently only master in their SA federation TSA (Taekwon-Do South Africa) awarded by the International Taekwon-Do Federation presided by the founder of all Taekwon-Do's son. Master Denis Magua heads up our canadian clubs and an organisation the NTCC there. Both are honoured to be be a rare pair of sibling masters in the Art.


Our mission is to bring you top quality, potent, all round, authentic martial arts training! We aim to take individuals to meet their potential through our amazing martial art. The class includes: ITF Taekwon-Do (sparring TK-Kickboxing, traditional razor sharp scientifically based technique training using all limbs, self defence, funtional fitness, focus and the moral worrior codes accompanied with true martial arts) and ugmented with our effective reality based Survival self defence syllabus (SHS: Survival Hosin Sul).


We include so many skills in one class. Unlike many styles or combat sports which cover one or maybe two or three skill sets. This requires one to often take multiple different skill classes which takes up precious time and sometimes could pay separately for each in order to become all round, this can also lead to gaps in skill because people will generally choose a preference or easier one of the options. Our classes are well thought out to allow the potential to be higly skilled all round in terms of real self defence, traditional, sporting (striking based) and all round fitness.

We also excel, for the members looking to compete, in the exciting sporting side! All with the aim of the positive aspects from our training overflowing, leading to improvement of oneself in all areas of their lives.

MTG Martial Arts framework is on the original (ITF) military style Taekwon-Do augmented with our specialised reality based urban survival self defence SHS (MTG Survival Hosin Sul). Therefore because of the all round nature of the training, you will also find influences and various useful aspects adjusted to our needs associated with many martial art styles or combat sports such as boxing, kickboxing, karate, Kung Fu, Judo, Jui Jitsu, Krav Maga, Aikido, Hapkido, San Shou, Kyusho Jitsu & Jeet Kune Do to take our members to the next level of all rounded training for the purposes of self defence. Aspects of our Hosin Sul sylabus can be seen as hybrid or mixed martial arts (for the use of real world self defence not as the combat sport version)

Established in 2001 by the Magua Brothers, Norman VII Dan & Denis VI Dan. Norman's Wife, Tanya Magua (V Dan) also runs the Clubs with him.

Its quality instruction for adult, teens and children’s training methods produce capable & confident individuals and brings out the best in its students.
