4worldlovers: We offer art classes, art workshops and short art courses for children, teens and adults.

Beginners are welcome and we have offerings that are tailored specifically to the needs of the beginner. Advanced classes are also offered for students wishing to challenge themselves.

Classes and courses cover the use of a variety of materials such as pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylics, oil paint, clay sculpture and pottery, papier mache and collage mixed media and lino prints.

Adult classes are small which allows for individualised projects and the emphasis is on artistic growth within a supportive environment. There is space in each class for the beginner as well as the advanced student. Students work at their own pace.

In the childrens classes a modular approach is used t explore a wide range of materials and approaches that can be used to make art. Students are encouraged to develop skills and thinking processes in both 2D and 3D projects.

Hilary is a qualified and highly experienced teacher, having taught high school art for over 20 years. She established and headed the Senior Art Department at Dominican Convent School, Belgravia; and as head of that department was the recipient of the Prestigious MTN School Award: Category Best Art Department first place in 2005.

Hilary holds a BA(fine arts) end degree from the University of the Witswatersrand, 1987 and was one of the Top 10 finalists for the Martinsen Prize, 1986.Since then her work has been shown at the David Brown Galleryn on Sandton Square in 2011 and in 2013 and at the Bamboo in Melville.

In 2018 Hilary graduated from the University of Johannesburg with an MTech Fine Arts with distinction. In the same year, the SARChl chair in South African Art and Visual Culture, hosted here solo exhibition.
